Histopathology of Pandemic Influenza A H1N1 in Ferrets

Dr. Gasper and his colleagues at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, University of Washington, and the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory recently published a paper that includes comparative histopathology of respiratory lesions in ferrets experimentally infected with the pandemic influenza viruses A/1918/BrevigMission H1N1 and A/CAO4 H1N1.    The paper reports the histopathology of trachea and lung at 1, 3, and 8 days after infection with each virus and compares the host gene expression profiles, proteomics, metabolomics, and lipidomics at each time point.
